THIS EVENT IS IN PAST
Address-based sampling with the postcode address file has been the standard for general population surveys in the UK since the 1980s. The potential availability of a wider range of data sources, particularly administrative data, offers the potential for enhancing sampling frames and improving the way in which subpopulations of interest can be sampled. This event brings together research and practice from Survey Futures.
The event will include three talks on the topic, followed by a discussion:
- UK General Population Sampling Frames: strengths, weaknesses, & future opportunities – Anna Keyes (ScotCen)
- Opportunities and challenges of sampling with administrative data – Paul Smith (University of Southampton)
- What the RDMF Could Do for Surveys in the UK: Ambition and Reality – Gerry Nicolaas (NatCen)
